About Valsalyam Tharwad - Nallu Kettu Tharwad

The Tharwad is on a gentle slope with the gradient towards north and east, thereby ensuring safety of building and inmates from the Monsoon winds which periodically lash the countryside. This building in the classic style of Nallu Kettu is the traditional home of Nairs (Kshatriyas), the warrior clan of Kerala.

Pure clean rainwater is harvested into a fan shaped pond of about 5,000 sq. ft. in the north-east. Pond overflows into a mountain stream flowing in front.

Pollution free Tharwad is located in the tranquil and idyllic village called Addakka Puttur nestled in the lush and verdant hills of north Kerala. The Tharwad is in the front of a Vishnu temple and to the flank of a Shiva temple.
Gardens and scenary galore. Nature in all its glory. Fresh smelling, clean and oxygen rich air to breathe. Natural aroma therapy ......... smell of flowers from trees thoughtfully planted around the residence. Bird chorus to wake up to. Aura of Heritage home which has bestowed good health to many generations.
